Talon Esports enters Dota 2, reveals roster with Gabbi and Fly
The Southeast Asia Dota Pro Circuit just got all the more exciting.
Renowned esports organization Talon Esports becomes the latest contender to enter to fray and they aren’t pulling back any punches with the reveal of their roster.
Leading the line will be ex-TNC star Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, who is reunited with former teammate Damien “kpii” Chok. Indonesian duo Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman and Brizio Adi “Hyde” Putra Budiana, both of which previously played for BOOM Esports, slot into the position 2 and 4 roles, respectively. Arguably the most surprising move of all is Tal “Fly” Aizik’s switch to the chaos that is SEA Dota.
“The Southeast Asian region has always held a special place in my heart, with its passionate fans and raw Dota power,” said Fly in Talon Esports’ official announcement. “It will be intense, yes, but I am looking forward to competing under a fresh banner and alongside this talented roster. I am excited for a new era of SEA Dota.”

If the news so far doesn’t excite you enough, we’re here to tell you that you might find yourself running into the veteran captain at some local mall very soon because the Talon Dota 2 squad will be based in Manila.
“DOTA 2 has been a game that we have long sought to enter and finally in 2021, we have arrived. The Philippines will be the home of our new squad and we look forward to embracing the passionate fan base of the country,” said Sean Zhang, CEO of Talon.
Talon have assembled a talented roster on paper, for sure, but only time will tell how they actually fare in arguably Dota 2’s most competitive region. Another question that’s in all of our minds is: will they go through the open qualifiers for a slot in the lower division, or will they secure it by way of team-merging shenanigans à la B8?
