In the end, it was Acend who won the first-ever VALORANT Champions after beating Gambit Esports 3-2 in the best-of-5 grand finals series.

FEATURED STORIES
Game 1 of their series went to Gambit as the Russian squad cast the 9-3 curse on Acend. Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin was immovable on Breeze as he recorded a 29/10/6 KDA with an average combat score of 337.

Unshaken, Acend equalized the series with a 13-6 win on Ascent. Despite impressive adjustments from both teams, Acend came out on top as Santeri “BONECOLD” Sassi’s Sova, Patryk “starxo” Kopczyński’s Astra, and Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt KAY/O’s performances were nothing short of excellent.

Gambit demolished Acend 13-3 on Fracture to take the series lead once again. nAts was almost unkillable as he only fell three times in the entirety of this game, first in the 11th round, then in the 14th and 15th rounds respectively.
I talked to Acend before their Finals match, and they had told me that cNed broke his leg last night and needs to use crutches on Stage 🙏 #VALORANTChampions pic.twitter.com/rIU5VkpkFQ

Acend once again bounced back by creating another momentum shift in the series. Led by their own superstar, Mehmet Yağız “cNed” İpek, Acend won the hard-fought fourth game with a score of 14-12 in overtime.
Only one team can take home the trophy of VALORANT Champions 2021 and that team was no other than Acend. They closed out the series in the fifth and final map, Split, as they went 13-8.
With this win, Acend will be taking home USD $350,000, Gambit USD $150,000, while 3rd and 4th placers Team Liquid and KRÜ Esports receive USD $90,000. Meanwhile, as Team Secret finished in the top 8, the Filipino representatives will also be receiving USD $40,000.
