VCT APAC 2022: All You Need To Know
Following the massive success of VALORANT Champions 2021, VALORANT Champions Tour is back. VCT Asia Pacific (APAC) 2022 Season will feature more teams from newly added regions. With the addition of South Asia and Oceania, the total competing regions rise to 8. Players from these two regions will no longer count as imports, as per the APAC Residency rule.
Full list of competing regions are as follows: Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Asia, Oceania, Singapore/Malaysia and Taiwan/Hong Kong.
Competitive Format
The VCT 2022 season is structured around three global events: Masters 1, Masters 2, and Champions. Teams from the APAC level will have to fight through a three-stage competitive format for the chance to compete at these global events.
- Local Challengers: Teams will participate in local-level tournaments for a chance to secure a seed at the Regional Playoffs.
- Regional Playoffs: Teams that qualify for Playoffs will compete for Circuit Points. Those with high enough points will be invited to Global Events.
- Global Events: These international events come with prestige, high prize pools and massive Circuit Point pools.
Slot Allocation
The 20-team competitive format is split across the 8 regions. Philippines gets 3 slots, alongside Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Singapore/Malaysia.
Taiwan/Hong Kong and South Asia get 2 slots each, and 1 for Oceania.
