“It was a good run but we have to close this chapter for our Wild Rift team,” Oasis Gaming stated in their announcement.

The Oasis Wildrift roster was composed of Jashryl Jan “Jash” Bautista, Marty “Hex” Ching, Jerome “Marsh” Martin, Rojan “Row1” Capul, Jefry “Ryuj1n” Cebu, and Coach David “Neep” Viray.

This move came after their roster has failed to qualify at the Wild Rift Champions SEA – Philippines Group Stages as they fell against LF Adoption and RRQ consecutively.

FEATURED STORIES

“It’s unfortunate we weren’t able to qualify for this WCS season. Coming into this season the team had really high expectations from the restructure, acquiring Jash & Row1 from Leo Knights, Hex from RRQ, and Ryujin from Chasing Dreams,” Coach Neep stated. “Despite the strong roster and high confidence, the team fell short in the WCS Qualifiers finishing 5-2. We had a bit of an unlucky bracket — having to play against LF Adoption then RRQ back to back and knocking us out of the event.”

Coach Neep then described his tenure in Oasis as fulfilling despite the lack of silverware the team has to show.

“It’s been a great experience working as a coach for Oasis Gaming. I’ve always felt I ended my pro career quite abruptly in LoL PC, with my last tournament being Globe Conquerors Manila Qualifiers in 2018 on Team Red. Oasis Gaming and Wild Rift was an opportunity to immerse me back in the scene and it was cool to see players I used to play with back then still playing or coaching as well. While ultimately, there aren’t really many accomplishments to show during my 1 year at Oasis, on a personal level it was a very fulfilling experience. Oasis was a great organization to be a part of [as they had] great management & a great community.”

Currently, the trio of Row1, Jash, and Marsh are already looking for a team as revealed by Row1 himself on a Facebook post. As for Coach Neep, he currently has no future plans in Wild Rift but will instead focus more on his efforts as a product manager at AcadArena.

“I don’t have any future plans for Wild Rift [as] I’ll be dedicating more time to building up AcadArena. But hopefully, I can still be a part of the game and support the space through the collegiate side of things.”

Meanwhile, the teams that qualified for Wild Rift Champions SEA – Philippines Group Stages were Team Secret, Fennel Adversity, AXS, LF Adoption, Team RRQ, Cerebrum Esports, Sunsparks, and GrindSky Esports. Apparently, rumors of LF Adoption replacing the Oasis Gaming roster have been circulating within the community but Oasis themselves has yet to formally address the said rumor.
