KJC eSports Hosts Updraft for Tier-2 SEA VALORANT Teams
Kowloon, Hong Kong — Time to call your buddies and insta-lock Jett as we bring to you the KJC Updraft!
As KJC eSports Limited strives to help develop the Southeast Asian VALORANT scene, we’re proud to announce the KJC Updraft — a series of weekly standalone events, co-organized with Cyberport, aimed at SEA’s Tier-2 VALORANT teams!
While Tier 1 teams have their sights for the VCT, teams that could not make the cut there but have the drive to compete and hone their skills will have a chance to compete by joining the Updraft.
Here’s a quick overview of what the Updraft would be:
- Number of Teams: 8 Teams
- Markets: Southeast Asia
- Hong Kong & Taiwan
- Malaysia & Singapore
- Philippines
- Indonesia
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, East Timor
- Note: The last 5 Markets are grouped as such due to their markets not being directly included in the VCT circuit just yet.
- Based on current knowledge of the markets’ performance
- Duration: 12 Weeks
- Format: Single Elimination
- Prize Pool: 100 USD given to 1st Place (Winner-Takes-All Prize)
The event will run in a single-elimination bracket format. The bracket will have 8 slots available. All matches will be a best-of-three aside from the quarterfinal matches, which will be a best-of-one series instead.
Matches will run on weekday evenings, Monday till Thursday. The schedule for specific matches will be the same for all Updraft events and will be the following:
- Monday – 8:00 PM (GMT+8)
- Quarterfinals 1 – Best-of-One – (time of match start 8:00 PM)
- Quarterfinals 2 – Best-of-One – (expected time of match start 9:00 PM)
- Quarterfinals 3 – Best-of-One – (expected time of match start 10:00 PM)
- Quarterfinals 4 – Best-of-One – (expected time of match start 11:00 PM)
- Tuesday – 8:00 PM (GMT+8)
- Semifinals 1 – Best-of-Three
- Wednesday – 8:00 PM (GMT+8)
- Semifinals 2 – Best-of-Three
- Thursday – 8:00 PM (GMT+8)
- Finals – Best-of-Three
- For any VCT SEA/Masters events wherein match dates happen on a weekday, Updraft for that specific week will be postponed.
