Ultimate Divinus drubs Daivo Lady to retain CODM women’s title for the Philippines
Ultimate Divinus leaned on a total team effort to turn back Thailand’s Daivo Lady 3-1, winning the CODM Garena Invitational women’s championship last night, April 3 Sunday.
This allows Ultimate Divinus to secure another women’s CODM title for the Philippines after Tyrant LXIX’s victory in the Valkyrie Series.
The sextet comprising Aleeshea “Sazi” Quiocho, Pamela “Roshi” Lapiña, Angel “Aurora” Aquino, Kristine “TINE” Napigkit, Alyana “Yana” Fernandez, Jacqueline “Jax” Florendo won in Hardpoint at Raid, Domination at Firing Range and Hardpoint at Crossfire while only losing in Search and Destroy at Takeoff to keep the ladies in black and red without a series loss throughout the tournament.
The win provided some sort of relief for the team representing the Philippines, coming full circle after a backlash from fans and players alike. Ultimate Divinus was notably shunned before the tournament started, with people questioning the team’s rightful position to represent the country in the regional meet. They defeated Valkyrie Series champions and runner-up Tyrant LXIX and C8 One in a controversial Philippines qualifier to earn the right to represent the country.
The championship also provides Ultimate Esports, Divinus’ mother organization another title as their mens’ counterparts Blacklist International Ultimate also secured the title in the pros division.
