TNC swiftly took the initiative in the series as Game 1 went by so fast that it concluded in just under 10 minutes. TNC’s fast and aggressive playstyle, paired with their excellent map control, caught Omega off-guard which resulted in a game that only had a total of 9 kills (TNC 7, Omega 2).
Game 2 wasn’t as short as Game 1, but it clocked in just below the 15-minute mark with Omega picking up their only win of the series. They held on to their early game advantage in another low-scoring game that saw them pick up just 6 kills while limiting TNC to just 1.
The series was now tied and TNC once again took the initiative by securing Game 3 in a more crowd-pleasing fashion. Silent objective-taking was replaced by back-to-back skirmishes with Ben “Benthings” Maglaque’s TikTok moves on Franco proving to be instrumental and Mark “Kramm” Genzon Rustana recording a flawless 5/0/4 KDA.
The boys in white and orange smelled blood come Game 4. With Lord secured, they forced their way into the Omega base and to finally close off the series 3-1. A flawless hooking performance by Benthings on Franco yet again made him the game MVP with a KDA of 3/0/9.
In the post-match interview, Benthings revealed that TNC held an open forum a week prior to the playoffs to discuss certain strategic matters. The team was concerned about how they snuck in experimental strategies too often and mutually agreed to refocus on the actual meta.
With the win, TNC moves up to the upper bracket finals while Smart Omega drops to the lower bracket of the MPL-PH Season 9 playoffs. Their respective opponents will be determined by the results of the match between RSG PH and ONIC PH.
