Their first match of the day was plagued with broadcasting issues such as missing audio and stuttering streams that occasionally froze. The match itself was no better as the Philippines was simply outmatched by Thailand. The game started promising as the Filipino squad picked up two kills within the first three minutes but the Thais immediately equalized. Despite securing the first Drake, the Filipinos lost the majority of the objectives to Thailand which spelled their doom.
In their rematch against Malaysia, the team played with renewed confidence. The team was able to get the first blood, secured the first Cloud Drake, destroyed turrets, and held a sizeable lead for most of the match. However, their tendency to overstay in one area cost them as the Malaysian representatives took advantage of it and closed down the gap. Unfortunately, SIBOL Men’s Wild Rift failed to turn the tables as their Nexus fell to Malaysia yet again.
Having won none of their games in the best-of-1 double round-robin group stages, the team’s journey has sadly come to an end. Fortunately, a flicker of hope remains as the SIBOL Women’s League of Legends: Wild Rift is set to start on May 18th, 2022.
