EG fly back home after finishing bottom of Group A – Dota 2 Stockholm Major
North American Dota 2 team Evil Geniuses (EG) have found themselves heading for the airport after ridiculously underperforming throughout the entire group stage.
The NA team fell short of their goal to push for a last-grasp tiebreaker after drawing 1-1 with South American team Beastcoast in the final day of the group stage matches for the Dota 2 Stockholm Major.

FEATURED STORIES
Abed Azel Yusop’s Queen of Pain dominated the midlane against Beastcoast’s Jean Pierre “Chris Luck” Gonzales and was vital to EG winning game 1 in astounding fashion with a final kill score of 28-12. The dream was alive.
Game 2, unfortunately, saw the other side of the coin. Abed and the EG crew started the match with a lead in the laning phase as usual. It was not until the mid-game when Chris Luck and Beastcoast started to pick up their pace and slowly racked up gold and took control of the game. The game ended in a 22-30 kill score, with Beastcoast having a 28,000 gold lead.
This tie puts EG dead last in the Group A rankings, resulting in their elimination from the Stockholm Major. Beastcoast hangs on to life, tied in the 4th place with Southeast Asian team BOOM Esports.
The Stockholm Major playoffs kick off today, May 16, culminating in the grand finals on May 22.
