PH’s Vagabonds Esports takes commanding lead in Garena Survivors Finals Day 1
Vagabonds Esports demonstrated why they are the Philippines’ finest when it comes to Call of Duty: Mobile Battle Royale as they towered over the opposition on Day 1 of the Garena Survivors Finals.
The squad composed of Josef Brey “Blue” Evidente, John Christopher “Nash” Simbulan Jr., Luke Emmanuel “Lukie” Jorolan, Jacq “Yato” Maranga, and Kevin Miles “Kevsup” Taller won an impressive five out of six rounds played over the course of Day 1. They put up a masterful performance over the best of the best CODM BR had to offer and did it with relative ease.
Vagabonds Esports team captain Blue described the experience of winning all those rounds. “The team’s mindset was we needed to be consistent all throughout the games because we had to work for kill points and placement points,” he said.
“We [the team] expected to be able to get some rounds because we already had a layout on what we needed to do in order to be victorious,” Blue added.
The only time Vagabonds didn’t win was in the 4th round when they were taken out early by a series of attacks from NRX 4:20 and XIII Academy. They finished 7th as a result.
But that was the only time Vagabonds finished that low throughout the day as they won Rounds 1,2,3,5 and 6. They finished comfortably at the top of the overall rankings with a total of 126 points courtesy of a day-high 51 and 75 points in placement and kill points, respectively. Vagabonds Esports now enters Day 2 later today with 46 points more than second-place 4 Kings who had 80.
Day 2 coverage of the Grand Finals resumes on Garena CODM’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel later today, June 10 at 5 P.M.
