RSG PH Quickly Claims Game 1
Things went well for the Filipino representatives as they quickly claimed the first game of the best-of-3 series.
The first four minutes of the game involved high-octane action with both teams trading blow for blow before things calmed down. Despite that, RSG trailed behind Falcon in terms of kills for most of the early to midgame.
Dylan Aaron “Light” Catipon became the unfortunate first blood victim of Falcon’s Pyae Sone “JustiN” Khant but was immediately traded back by Arvie “Aqua” Antonio. Meanwhile, Nathanael “Nathzz” Estrologo was bullied in the early game as he went zero on kills with three deaths during the first six minutes.
Fortunately, RSG kept Falcon in check and held on to their gold lead by prioritizing Turtle takedowns. In the end, Eman “EMANN” Sangco’s late game heroics opened up Falcon’s base which they capitalized to eventually take the game.
RSG PH’s Game 2 Blunder
RSG’s overconfidence on Game 2 proved to be fatal for the team when Falcon did a massive comeback.
The game’s start was initially slowed down by multiple technical pauses due to in-game bugs. When things resumed, RSG instantly grabbed the lead with 8 kills prior to the 5-minute mark. RSG then maintained the momentum for the majority of the game as they cleared out the map of Falcon’s turrets.
However, their multiple barrages at Falcon’s doorstep failed miserably multiple times which gave their opponents ample time to recoup and prepare for the next onslaught. RSG then gave away the fourth Lord which led to their bottom inhibitor turret’s destruction. This evened out the playing field with things at a stalemate for most of this time. Unfortunately, RSG lost the 30-minute game after multiple misplays at the last Lord-take which gave Falcon the chance to rush and destroy their base.
RSG PH Recovers To Take Game 3
Luckily for the MPL Philippines Season 9 champions, RSG recovered in the nick of time to take the third and final game of the series.
RSG seemed to stagger in the first three minutes of the game as their Game 2 blunder was still fresh on their minds. Things seemed to go wrong for RSG early on in the game as Nathzz succumbed first, followed by Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto’s demise, and EMANN next as he lost to Falcon’s Silent on Irithel.
Thankfully, RSG kept up with Falcon’s antics to hasten up the game’s pace. With lessons learned from the previous game, RSG did not allow for the game to go even longer as they swiftly finished the game in just under thirteen minutes.
RSG’s win against Falcon meant that they move up to the Upper Bracket Semi-Finals of the MSC 2022 playoffs. They will face Orange Esports, which took down their Singaporean brethren RSG Singapore, on June 16, 2022.
