RRQ Philippines Suffers Defeat Against Alter Ego, Exits VCT 2022 APAC Stage 2
Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) suffered a 2-1 defeat against Alter Ego in Group B’s Decider Match, which led to their exit from the VALORANT Challengers Tour (VCT) 2022 APAC Stage 2 Group Stage.

The series immediately started horribly at Bind as RRQ lost 4-13. They showed signs of life during the late first half but were unable to capitalize on it during the second half. The signature RRQ aggression was nowhere in sight as Alter Ego snuffed it out before it got the chance to boost RRQ’s confidence.
Meanwhile, RRQ managed to equalize the series on Split, but it was too close for comfort as it ended 13-11. RRQ trailed 2 rounds in the first half, as it was 7-5 in favor of Alter Ego, but were able to pick themselves up in the next. Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo and Jose Eduardo “Draxii” Jamir turned the heat up for RRQ all throughout the game, while James “2ge” Goopio’s clutch reputation helped the team with his much-needed frags in the second half.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck RRQ as their VCT journey ended in a 4-13 loss on Icebox. The Filipino squad only managed to secure three rounds in the first half and were only allowed to get two more in the next. Their valiant efforts fell through as RRQ was decimated one by one by Alter Ego, specifically by Delbert “deLb” Tanoto, Jonathan “noxxy” Adiputra, and Bryan “Kush” Setiawan (all of them with commendable clutch performances respectively).
With both RRQ and Oasis Gaming out of VCT 2022 APAC Stage 2, only Team Secret remains as they will fight for their lives on Group D’s Decider Match against Fancy United for a chance to get into the playoffs.
