We’ve only a day left before the PGL Dota 2 Arlington Major begins, and there have been exciting developments in the past few days. From stand-ins filling in incomplete rosters due to VISA problems, to brewing tea between teams, the Arlington Major might see some action on and off the game’s map.

Ana out of his cave?

Former OG carry and two-time The International winner Anathan “Ana” Pham has decided to step out of the retirement home to chase some Dota 2 action. We first witnessed his return during the Riyadh Masters 2022, subbing in for Team Liquid’s Lasse “Matumbaman” Urpalainen, with the latter unable to travel to the Middle East for the tournament.

This comeback shocked the Dota 2 pro fanbase, as fans have long been wanting to see the return of the legendary “Humblegod” back in action as soon as he retired.

Ana will once again grace us with his presence and prowess in the Arlington Major, playing for Chinese Dota team Royal Never Give Up (RNG). He will be subbing in for Daniel “Ghost” Chan Kok Hong after Hong failed to secure a travel visa in time for the major.

Ceb steps out of the analyst table, again

Sébastien “Ceb” Debs once again dons his player’s jersey as he stands in for OG in the Arlington Major. Ceb has had a short stint as an analyst during the Riyadh Masters, and now he’s stepping away from the analysts’ table and back into the gaming chair as he stands in for Mikhail “Misha” Agatov. This news comes in after the latter failed to secure a travel VISA in time for the tournament. This is not the first time that Ceb had subbed in for Misha, the first one during the Stockholm Major.

With these two legendary OG players out of their retirement homes, how will the games play out? Will there be matches of intense former-allies-turned-enemies bouts happening, or will these teams fail to meet even once outside the round robin?
