VALORANT Patch 5.07 brings Flash, Fracture changes, adds skin randomizer
In the latest Valorant patch blog, Dan “penguin” Hardison shares that the character design team is constantly revamping the agent meta with the goal of sharpening some agents’ roles and impact. Penguin added that duelists with a flash ability are being outclassed by some initiators like Skye and KAY/O.
This brings us to the actual changes. Skye’s “bird” received some indestructible updates, KAY/O’s pop flash received some versatility, and two of our duelists Yoru and Reyna received some positive balance changes to even out the playing field.

Overall, these changes aim to reward initiators for more team-oriented utility usage while duelists are given better tools for self-sufficient fragging.
There are also some map updates in Fracture in patch 5.07. These changes give both attacker and defender some space to play around with while removing a flurry of inconvenient and unnecessary angles to clear.

The patch also features a new progression update which allows players to mark their favorites in their collection and allow them to filter down the items that represent their style. Now having too many skins isn’t such a pain anymore.
Additionally, Penguin says agents are “in a more stable state since Champions, and Game Changers teams will have decent time to acclimate before the Game Changers World Championships takes place,” hinting that these changes might be a preparation for an upcoming agent that will definitely break the current meta of Valorant.
