Worlds 2022 Champions DRX Roster Now Free Agents
South Korean esports organization DRX has announced that the entirety of their world championship-winning League of Legends team is now in free agency.
The contracts of the squad consisting of Hwang ‘Kingen’ Sung-hoon, Hong ‘Pyosik’ Chang-hyun, Kim ‘Zeka’ Geon-woo, Kim ‘Deft’ Hyeok-gyu, and Jo ‘BeryL’ Geon-hee have expired, as per a tweet from the official account.

The team completed a miracle run at Worlds 2022, starting as LCK’s fourth seed, playing through play-ins, going undefeated in groups, and finally taking down tournament favorites T1 in one of the most exciting best-of-fives in international League of Legends history. The organization recognizes this, saying that they “will communicate with [the team] to try to renew their contracts” in order to continue the enjoyable challenge with them.
Players aside, members of the coaching staff are now also free agents. Head Coach Kim ‘Ssong’ Sang-su, and coaches Lee ‘Mowgli’ Jae-ha and Shin ‘Shine’ Dong-wook were thanked for their hard work as their contracts with the org expired.
