Bren Esports Back on Top After Winning SIBOL Qualifiers, Coach Duckeyyy to Lead Men’s MLBB Team
Bren Esports is back on top after winning SIBOL Men’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Qualifiers for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. They defeated GAMELAB 2-0 last Sunday, January 22, 2023.
Bren’s path to victory was not easy as they had to go through tough matchups in the qualifying bracket but they emerged victorious and swept a majority of matches.
First, they swept notable amateur team MINANA Esports 2-0 and proceeded to do the same thing to AP Esports. They then faced reigning MLBB world champions ECHO, fresh from their M4 victory earlier this month, and won 2-1 in their thriller matchup. Finally, they capped off their run with a victory against GAMELAB to become the champions of the SIBOL qualifying tournament.
With their win, Bren Coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro will be the head of the SIBOL combine that features their team along with ECHO, GAMELAB, and ONIC Philippines, all of whom made it to the top four of the qualifiers. This also makes it possible for Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel to be part of the national team once more after winning gold with the MLBB squad that represented the Philippines in the 30th SEA Games.
