ECHO Regains Top Spot in MPL PH Season 11 Standings, Country Manager Secures Executive of the Year Award
ECHO regained the top spot in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 11 standings in the third week of the regular season. Furthermore, their country manager Mitch Liwanag also secured an Executive of the Year award.
After hanging around in second place in the previous week, ECHO managed to regain the lead by sweeping both of their matches in Week 3, going 2-0 against both TNC on Day 1 and Nexplay EVOS on Day 3, thereby boosting their points up to fourteen and continuing their undefeated match win streak.
Moreover, ECHO had much more to celebrate in the past weekend as their country manager Mitch Liwanag was announced as the Evident Executive of the Year by the MPL Philippines Press Corps — a group of dedicated journalists that covers the professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene.
“Nagulat din ako kasi very rare lang talaga marecognize ang mga nasa behind the scenes na sumusuporta sa mga bawat team [I was actually surprised because it’s very rare for people behind the scene to be recognized in supporting their team],” Liwanag revealed in ECHO’s post-match interview after beating Nexplay EVOS.
According to ECHO players in a post-match interview, Liwanag has provided the team with everything to support them, from making sure the players are well-fed to checking up on the players’ mental health every post-season.
Moving on to the next spot, Bren swept RSG Philippines 2-0 in their matchup to finish second in the third week’s regular standings with twelve points.
Having been tied in the previous week, RSG Philippines broke away and pulled ahead of Blacklist International to clinch the third spot, having won their matchup via a 2-0 sweep which boosted them to 9 points in the process.
Speaking of the agents, Blacklist had won against ONIC Philippines in the first match of the week, going 2-1 in their series and eventually finishing the week in fourth place.
Meanwhile, Nexplay EVOS, despite falling to ECHO on the last day, managed to overtake ONIC Philippines as they took the fifth spot in the rankings. They were able to sweep Smart Omega on the second day to secure themselves seven points at the end of the week. ONIC, on the other hand, lost their only match this week, losing in a sweep and granting TNC their first match win in the regular season.
Finally, both Smart Omega and TNC remained in the same spots in Week 3, with both teams still at the bottom of the pack in the seventh and eighth spots respectively.
The fourth week of MPL PH Season 11 will start on Friday, March 10, 2023, with Blacklist International going against Bren Esports to start the weekend of matches.
