Cambodia to host ML:BB Southeast Asia Cup 2023

Cambodia will be the host of the upcoming ML:BB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 as they boost ties with MOONTON Games.

Developer and publisher of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MOONTON Games met with the Esports Federation Cambodia to strengthen the local esports industry. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the goal of creating a partnership between the country and the developer-publisher. Cambodia is already announced to be the host of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in May on top of MSC 2023 slated for June.

Head of Esports Ecosystem in MOONTON Games, Ray Ng, was one of the authors of the memorandum. “The success of MPL Cambodia has helped to strengthen the development of the esports ecosystem in Cambodia, and we are looking to take it one step further by bringing MSC 2023 to create more opportunities for local talents here,” said Ng. “We are excited to showcase the potential of Cambodian players to a global arena and to bring in global players to #SEATheWorld.”

His Excellency Chea Chanboribo, Secretary State of the Ministry of Information and President of the Esports Federation Cambodia, also authored the memo. “I am pleased that the Esports Federation Cambodia and MOONTON Games jointly organized the signing ceremony of the MoU to establish a new partnership in organizing the MSC 2023 for the first time in Phnom Penh. The signing is part of a joint effort to develop the local esports industry and create more events in the country for athletes,” said H.E. Chea Chanboribo. “The opportunity to host this major international event is a testament to the development of the Kingdom of Cambodia in general and in the field of esports. Thank you to MOONTON Games for co-organizing the event in Cambodia.”

This iteration of the MSC will introduce the first-time invitation of teams from other regions such as North America, MENA and Turkey. 

MSC 2023 is scheduled to run from June 10th to June 18th, 2023.
