NUFV Fervent incinerates LG Atlas on AllG Valorant Group Stage
The National University – Fairview’s (NUFV) Fervent dumps Ateneo De Manila’s (ADMU) LG Atlas out of the map in a triple overtime match on the first day of the ongoing AcadArena Alliance Games (AllG) Season 3 Valorant Group Stage last Saturday, April 15.
With their team being seen as the newcomers, NUFV turned the tide in their favor with Antonine Philipp “Hikari” Ochea, who surprisingly debuted the newest agent, Gekko, as well as pushing the game in a triple overmatch—a first in the group stage.
NUFV showed dominance right from the start, seizing the first four rounds of the game until ADMU was able to slow down their momentum during the latter stages of the first half—reaching halftime with only a two-round deficit, 5-7.
After halftime, ADMU closed the gap by securing the first two rounds of the second half. From there, the game remained tight, but NUFV snatched four round wins to put the game in a matchpoint; however, ADMU answered with a three-round win streak, forcing the match to go into overtime.
In the first two overtime, both teams have won their respective attacking and defending sides. Fortunately, “Vince” Roi Bañaco from the NUFV served as the team’s ultimatum to finish off the game at the third overtime at 16-14, earning NUFV’s first win in the group stage.
The Most Valuable Player of the Game went to the NUFV’s sole sentinel, Vince, due to his remarkable performance as Killjoy. Vince‘s utilization of his agent’s ability kit proved to be vital in cementing their win against ADMU, particularly his strategy in the third overtime of what was considered to be “lurking” against his opponents.
The next round of the group stage matches for VALORANT will be broadcasted live on Saturday, April 29 at the AcadArena’s Alliance Games page on Facebook.
