Students and Esports Clubs Recognized in AcadArena Awards 2022
The AcadArena Awards 2022 has recently concluded which recognized both students and student esports clubs in four major categories: Individual, Org-level, Event, and Creative categories.
Amongst the awardees, student leader and shoutcaster Michaella “Mochii” Gonzales has won the Student Talent of the Year award.
She was part of the final trio for the award which included Mark “Mael” Cruz from Tempest Gaming Society (Technological Institute of the Philippines – Quezon City) and Rhommielle Andray “Salvatore” Rivera from TUP GEAR (Technological University of the Philippines – Manila).
Unfortunately, Mochii couldn’t attend the AcadArena Awards and receive the award in person due to a conflicting casting schedule for the Filipino broadcast of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2023: Pacific League on the day of the awarding.
“I first find it ironic because I haven’t been able to receive the award face-to-face because I need to leave early since I had to cast for VCT Pacific during that time,” Mochii confessed in an exclusive interview. “Overall, I am more than ecstatic to receive the title and it motivated me to grow, guide, and inspire others further,” she continued.
Before winning the Student Talent of the Year of the AcadArena Awards 2022, Mochii has been casting professionally and in the collegiate scene for games such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, and VALORANT. She is also a full-time BS Computer Science with a specialization in Software Engineering student at Far Eastern University – Institute of Technology and the incumbent president of the FIT iTamaraws Esports Club, the official esports organization on their campus.
