ECHO took care of Fire Flux Impunity (FIMP) by defeating them 2-1 en route to their qualification to Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup 2023’s (MSC 2023) Knockout Stage.

After successfully defeating Team EVO the day prior to kick off their MSC 2023 journey, ECHO Philippines only needed to win one game to qualify for the mid-season international tournament’s knockout stage.

Nakakproud po kasi kami yung nauna [sa knockout stage] (We’re very proud to be the first ones in the knockout stage),” Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales shared on the team’s status as the first to qualify for MSC 2023’s Knockout stage.

During their best-of-three matchup with FIMP, ECHO took the first game in twenty minutes of action. The ECHO Express showed a commanding presence by going deathless with five kills to their name in the first five minutes of the game before Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s untimely death just twenty seconds later. Luckily, ECHO was able to just shrug it off and maintained a sizeable lead for the entire game.

FIMP’s Furkan “APEX47” Akbulut was a menace on Franco as he was able to hook ECHO, more frequently Tristan “YAWI” Cabrera, during critical times and contributed six assists to FIMP’s kill score. Despite that, ECHO outplayed FIMP as Game 1 ended with a 17-8 scoreline when FIMP’s base turret fell.

Unfortunately, ECHO fell to FIMP in the second game of the series. During this game, FIMP drafted Minotaur for APEX47 and Phoveus on Mehmet “Lunar” Ilgun, with APEX47 eventually getting a game MVP nod.

Impressed by FIMP’s win against their team, two-time M-series world champion Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno complimented the Turkish team.

“Nakakabigla yung strat nila na ganon (Their strategy took us by surprise),” KarlTzy shared during the post-match interview.

After losing Game 2, ECHO unleashed their wrath on FIMP, recording a perfect, deathless game for the series’ third and final game.

ECHO’s win against Fire Flux Impunity caps off their near-perfect run in the group stage with a 4-1 game record. The team is now waiting for the rest of the groups to conclude in order to determine who they will be facing in the quarterfinals.
