ECHO Philippines kicked off their Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup 2023 (MSC 2023) campaign with a 2-0 win against Team EVO.

The reigning M4 and concurrent MPL PH champions were off to a hot start in their first game against the Laotian representatives. ECHO started the game with great drafting, with Alston “Sanji” Pabico using his Yve, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya going for his perfect record Yu Zhong, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno opting to use the recently buffed Bane, and Tristan “YAWI” Cabrera taking the game MVP honors with his signature Chou. Meanwhile, despite the recent nerfs on the hero, Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales ended the game with a triple-kill wipeout with Wanwan to secure the first game of the series.

For Game 2, ECHO went for a tested and proven draft, retaining the Chou and Yu Zhong picks for YAWI and Sanford respectively while KarlTzy settled on Fredrinn, Sanji bringing out the Kadita, and Bennyqt taking the game MVP with Beatrix. Similar to the first game, the Orcas were relentless in the second game of the series, starting the game with an early 4-1 lead and eventually closing it out 21-8 without dropping the lead despite a few hiccups. The majority of the kills went to Bennyqt as he recorded a whopping 12/1/2 KDA while KarlTzy and YAWI each recorded 11 assists to help the team secure the victory.

With their first victory in the group stage, ECHO currently sits atop Group A and is set to face Turkish-Singaporean team Fire Flux Impunity for their next matchup.
