NRG was the first one to secure a victory after coming out on top of their faceoff against EMEA’s Natus Vincere (NAVI).
With both rosters filled with previous Masters and Champions winners, NRG and NAVI’s matchup lived up to the hype as the game went to all three maps. NRG claimed the first map, Ascent, pretty convincingly by closing it out 13-8. However, they failed to end the series on the second map, Lotus, as NAVI outclassed them in overtime 14-12. Thankfully, NRG was undeterred and proceeded to ruthlessly beat NAVI on Split 13-6.

Meanwhile, EG continued their Cinderella run this year with a massive 2-0 sweep on DRX to secure the first playoff spot from Group B.
Throughout the series, EG gave DRX no chance in both maps as they finished both games in a very dominant fashion. In Game 1, EG only allowed DRX to win just five rounds from them, ending the game on Fracture 13-5. Meanwhile, the second game on Ascent was a bit closer as DRX managed to score more rounds on their map pick but ultimately fell short as EG won the game 13-9.
With Day 2’s results, EG has now secured a playoff spot while NRG is set to face T1 in Group A’s Winner’s Match. Meanwhile, both NAVI and DRX drop down to the lower brackets of their respective groups, with NAVI set to face EDward Gaming while DRX will try and qualify for the playoffs by winning Group B’s Decider Match.
