Sent to the lower bracket of Group A by EDward Gaming, Giants Gaming outplayed KRÜ Esports in just two games thereby eliminating the South American team from the tournament. During the first game on Lotus, Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas led the team with his twenty-one kills and five assists on Killjoy en route to a 13-10 victory. Giants Gaming then went on to win the second game on Pearl via a 14-12 win in overtime.
For the second series of the day, NRG sent ZETA DIVISION back home after the North American squad bested the Japanese team 2-0. NRG’s first game against ZETA proved to be a challenge as they won on Bind 15-13 after two overtime sets. After winning the first game, NRG proceeded to overwhelm ZETA as they closed out the series on Haven with a domineering 13-1 scoreline.
With today’s results, Giants Gaming booked a rematch against EDward Gaming in Group A’s decider match after the latter got sent to the lower bracket by Paper Rex. Similarly, NRG will be looking to seek their revenge against Bilibili Gaming in Group C’s decider match as the Chinese newcomers were actually responsible for sending NRG to the lower bracket in the first place.
