USC Warriors and CIT-U Wildcats showdown for Season 2 Grand Finals in CESAFI Esports League Mobile Legends
The conclusion of CESAFI Esports League’s (CEL) Season 2 Mobile Legends have begun to take shape with returning finalists from the previous season, the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, going up against the wildcard challengers of the Cebu Institute of Technology University (CIT-U) Wildcats in the grand finals.

As one of the heavy favorites in the CEL, the Warriors started at the upper bracket in the quarterfinals where they faced against fellow tournament heavyweight, Adelante Esports of the University of San Jose Recoletos. They won the series with a complete sweep, dropping the latter to the lower bracket.
With the victory, the Warriors advanced to the upper bracket semi – finals stage and battled against the Wildcats of CIT-U where they lost 1-2 and was forced to a rematch with Adelante in the lower bracket to fight for the position in the grand finals. The Warriors came out on top as the better team again from the series with a 2 – 0 result. This secured USC to a spot as a returning finalist in the grand finals stage.
Last season they were set to win the championship title but an upset from the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) Webmasters took them from winning it all. Their return to the grand finals stage have provided them the chance to claim what eluded them previously.

However, the Wildcats proved they are well of a threat to USC’s grab for the season championship title. The CIT-U representatives also began their playoffs quarterfinals in the upper bracket where they proceeded immediately to the semi-finals after UCLM Webmasters was sent to the lower bracket of the play-offs.
In the upper bracket semi -finals series, the Wildcats have shown they could effectively dismantle whatever the USC representatives could throw at them and finishing the bout with a convincing 2 – 1 fashion, securing the first grand finals spot and also dropping the Warriors to the lower bracket.
The grand final showdown for the Season 2 of CESAFI Esports League Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will be on November 18 on the esports stage of ArchCon 2023 at the IEC Convention center.
