VALORANT: Updates on replay system, map rotation, more
The latest VALORANT dev update, uploaded on May 21, 2024, tackled some of the playerbase’s hottest topics, including the map pool and the replay system.
Breeze, Split out, Haven in
The map pool finally rotates, removing Breeze and Split and adding Haven back. While not confirmed, it’s widely believed that the new map set to be revealed after the ongoing VALORANT Masters Shanghai will be the second map added to the pool.
Map restrictions will also be removed for Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, and Escalation. This means that after patch 8.11 goes live, VALORANT players who play these game modes can enjoy all the maps, from Ascent to Sunset and everything in between.

Replay System
The VALORANT devs shared a prototype of the long-awaited replay system. It’s still in a rudimentary state, with visual and functional inaccuracies.
The replay system is “nowhere near launch,” according to VALORANT Tech Lead Marcus Reid. “There are many issues with maps, abilities, weapons, as well as visual and audio effects that we need to work through to make them replay-ready.” He then showed some of the “defects” they ran into.
Other VALORANT Updates
The dev update tackled another important change, one of the administrative kind. VALORANT has a new Executive Producer: Andy Ho. His responsibilities encompass the game itself, while Anna Donlon steps up as VALORANT Studio Lead, in charge of the player experience and ecosystem.
Other updates include a high-tier Outlaw skin that players can look forward to and some balance updates for Duelists. Raze is getting a nerf for being too mobile with her Satchels, while Iso, Neon, and Reyna will get buffed.
