Fan-favorite professional VALORANT player Tyson “TenZ” Ngo announced his retirement from competitive play and revealed his plans for the future.

A short video from Sentinels broke the news to fans.

“I’ve known since the start of this year… that this is my last year [of competing],” TenZ revealed in the video. He discussed that he has ambitions outside of competitive play. He also reassured fans that “SEN TenZ” is not going anywhere as he will continue to stream and make content under the organization.

TenZ posted a separate, longer video on his personal X account. He thanked his fans and looked back at his career from being a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive streamer to a top player in the pro VALORANT scene.

TenZ joined Sentinels in 2021. His final competition was VALORANT Champions 2024 wherein they finished 4th. Sentinels lifted the trophy in VCT 2024: Masters Madrid, a fact that TenZ is proud of. “I didn’t want to leave my career at kind of a low point,” TenZ says. “I’m really glad that we were able to win in some capacity for this year and for my closure year.”
