Sibol to field in MLBB, Dota 2 teams for IESF WEC
Sibol plans to field teams for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Dota 2 for the International Esports Federation World Esports Championships (IESF WEC) in Pristina, Kosovo, later in 2025.
Philippine Esports Organization Executive Director Marlon Marcelo confirmed this in a statement sent to INQUIRER.net, adding that they will reveal details on the selection process “soon.”
“We will be moving forward with Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), both Men’s and Women’s categories, and Dota 2 as our selected game titles for the competition. These titles have been carefully chosen based on our strategic goals for this year’s championship,” he said.
He added: “Our Sibol executives have been diligently working on the preparations for the National Selection process, ensuring that we identify and nurture the best talent to represent our country for IESF WEC 2025. Further details regarding the selection process, including timelines, eligibility criteria, and registration procedures, will be released soon.”

PH Esports still a powerhouse in MLBB
The tournament will feature Counter Strike 2, Dota 2, the eFootball Series, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG Mobile for the third straight year. The Philippines remains a powerhouse country in the MLBB scene after Onic Philippines snagged the world title in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Philippines placed second in IESF WEC, next to Malaysia, which won the gold medal during the tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with leading game publishers to ensure the highest quality of competition for the 2025 season. The excitement among athletes is already incredible as they prepare to represent their nations on the grand stage.
