Ex-NAOS Esports player Patrick “PatMen” Mendoza has signed with Singaporean esports organization Paper Rex (PRX) as part of its roster for the coming Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific Stage 1.

Mendoza will serve as a sixth man after having a successful season last year with the previous Philippine-based team Zol Esports.

After winning the VALORANT Challengers 2024 Philippines: Split 1 against NAOS Esports, Split 2 saw ZOL lose to the same team last July. Mendoza got his first Predator League trophy after defeating collegiate-based team De La Salle Viridus Arcus in the Predator League Philippines 2025.

“As Valorant reaches its fifth year, it’s no surprise that the VCT circuit is more competitive than ever, and we must energize and reinvigorate ourselves,” Paper Rex chief gaming officer Harley “dsn” Örwall said in a statement.

“An injection of new blood with young eyes brings fresh perspectives to our game. Adding PatMen to the PRX family allows us to widen our experiments with a greater breadth of play styles,” he added.

The sixth man will travel to Seoul after the necessary documents are acquired, and he will be the ninth Filipino to play actively in VCT Pacific.

Fellow Filipinos include the majority of the Global Esports squad that houses former NAOS Esports player Federico “Papi” Evangelista, Former Oasis Gaming Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo, and substitute Mark “patrickWHO” Musni.

The last six are the all-Filipino “Adobo gang” squad Team Secret.

VCT 2025: Pacific Stage 1 will take place from March 22 to May and will feature 12 teams. Mendoza and the entire PRX squad will compete for a slot to play in VCT Masters 2: Toronto, which will be held in June.
