Marvin “Boombacs” Rushton and Jun “Bok” Kanehara left Arcanys Gaming as of March 18, 2015, according to Boombacs. Boombacs announced his departure earlier today in a brief post on his Facebook account.

In an interview with Boombacs via private message, he cited personal issues as to why he left the team. Boombacs served as team captain and is one of Arcanys Gaming’s founding members.

As for Bok’s departure from the team, Boombacs assured eSports Inquire that they have different reasons for leaving. According to Boombacs, they plan to join a new team together as a package. In the event that they cannot find a new team to join, the two will be looking to create a brand new team together.

Boombacs has been a long time player in the competitive Dota 2 scene, famous for his playmaking skills in the support role as Chen and Sand King. Bok was Arcanys Gaming’s off-laner, known for his impressive plays using Brewmaster and Nature’s Prophet.

Meanwhile, Delbert “FriedButterflys” Cortes is allegedly making a return to the team after a brief absence. FriedButterflys cited that he was “on vacation” as his reason for being absent during the team’s most recent games.

There is speculation of internal problems brewing between the players which led to FriedButteflys’ inactivity and the departure of Arcanys’ support and off-lane players.

However, FriedButterflys claims the contrary in an online interview in a mix of Tagalog and English: “I don’t think there’s an issue. When I left Arcanys temporarily, I didn’t know much about what was happening. Bok and Boombacs just suddenly decided to leave.”

Bok has yet to release an official announcement on his departure, as well as FriedButterflys’ return.

UPDATE: Arcanys Gaming released a statement via their Facebook page Thursday, March 19, 2015.

Job Real Ramos returns to the lineup to replace BoomBacs and Davao local PriemeEjay “PlayHard” Banquil replaces Bok’s position in the off-lane. The team has also decided to not have an official Captain, and instead distribute the responsibility amongst themselves.

The lineup is now as follows:

  • Heinrich “Heinrich” Don Abad (Midlaner)
  • Prince “MightySavior” Enriques (Carry)
  • Job Real Ramos (Support)
  • Delbert “friedbutterflys” Cortez (Support)
  • PriemeEjay “PlayHard” Banquil (Offlaner)

As for Boombacs and Bok, only time will tell if they will fade to obscurity or secure a stable team in time for tournament season. For both parties however, it seems that there are new horizons in view, and with due practice, a promising future ahead.
