After the conclusion of the Open Qualifiers which saw Invasion eSports prevail over Execration, 2-1, thus determining the team which takes the last spot for The International (TI)’s Southeast Asia (SEA) Qualifiers, the groups for Dota 2’s most prestigious tournament are finally bared.

How does it look like?

The ten teams that are taking part on the road to this year’s TI are divided into two groups of five in a round-robin tournament format. Only two teams from each group will go to the playoffs, which will be conducted in a double-elimination format. The first placer of each group will start in the upper bracket, while the second placer of each group will start in the lower bracket.

At the end of the qualifier, only two SEA teams will remain, with the winner getting a direct slot to the main event in Seattle and the runner-up to duke it out with the runner-ups of the other qualifiers during the wildcard bracket to determine who takes the last two places for this year’s The International.

Everyone in this group is expected to fight to the bitter end to get to the next stage of the qualifiers. From TI veterans in the form of Mineski to up-and-coming teams in the form of TnC Gaming and G-Guard, this bracket should come down to the wire as each team is more than capable of taking games off each other.

For the matchups in this group, expect three things: First, rivalries will come up as Rave and MVP.Phoenix face off against each other in this bracket. Second, TI veterans Signature.Trust (they went to TI as MiTH.Trust with a slightly different lineup) will do their math as they strive to get to their second TI appearance. Finally, Can’t Say Wips and Invasion eSports are here to create their own storyline to Seattle.

Who will prevail in the end? Who will get the much-coveted tickets to Dota 2’s multi-million dollar tournament?

Mark your calendars as the horns sound on Friday, May 29, 2015!
