Rave, the last Philippine team that can represent the country in The International 5, is eliminated and will no longer advance to the Group Stage Grand Finals for a ticket to the main event in Seattle after they lost to MVP.Phoenix, 2-0. The Grand Finals of the Southeast Asian Qualifiers will be against two Korean teams: MVP.Phoenix and MVP.Hot6.
The first game was was even during the early stages of Game 1 however that team fight in the Roshan pit mid stages into the game went in favor of MVP.Phoenix. What was supposed to be a smoke-gank for team Rave went bad for them for MVP.Phoenix was able to counter and it ended with a 4:2 exchange.
MVP.Phoenix made sure that they got the upper-hand after that to prevent Rave from bouncing back on their feet and make a comeback. Rave tapped out after MVP.Phoenix destroyed their bottom lane.
Rave aimed for map control during the second game picking Io-Tiny combo but they were unable to get the advantage since MVP.Phoenix always find a way to counter them with Queen of Pain and Storm Spirit. With the disabling items got picked up by both heroes, Rave had a hard time initiating and getting the proper items needed.
During the later stages of the game, Rave experienced some technical problems. According to Mark ‘Cast’ Pilar, one of the members of Rave, their team didn’t DDoS-ed but they were having some irregularities with their internet. In the end, Rave had to call ‘gg’ and fight another day.
