Day 3 of The International’s group stages is a thing of the past. Today’s matches have truly kept fans riveted to their seat. Before we take a quick run down the highlights of today’s matches, let’s have a quick update of the standings:

European fan-favorite Team Secret and Chinese team LGD Gaming share the top spot in Group A while another Chinese team in CDEC Gaming top Group B.

To the surprise of many fans, past TI powerhouse teams and former champions populate the bottom of the standings, with Invictus Gaming and Na’Vi in danger of being relegated to the lower brackets at the main event.

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin has been the Ukrainian team’s poster boy for the longest time and now it looks like he is ready to pass on the mantle. Akbar “Sonneiko” Butaev’s stellar play on the position-4 role has been a treat all tournament.

 

When one isn’t enough

 

Korean team MVP Phoenix sure knows how to turn heads. In what seemed to be a close game against Invictus Gaming turned into a sudden massacre when MVP eventually picked up 3 Divine Rapiers.

 

SumaiL Spirit

Chinese team EHOME was clobbered by Evil Geniuses. People started calling Syed “SumaiL” Hassan’s Storm Spirit, the SumaiL Spirit after his stellar performance at the Dota Asia Championships earlier this year. See for yourself why.
