100Mbps, Plushies, Rigs and Sven? More Fun in ESF 2015!
The biggest eSports event in the South is finally here! The competition is expected to get a lot more intense in the next two days. But for the mean time, let’s take a quick break and look at some of the things we’re loving about ESF 2015 so far.
The Internet
In competitive gaming events, having a stable connection is a no-brainer. While it may be true that the Philippines may not have the fastest internet, the organizers at ESF made sure to go all-out and have the best connection they can possibly get their hands on: a whopping 97.25 Mbps!
It looks like the investment is paying off so far. As of day one, there hasn’t been a game on the main stage that was interrupted by server issues nor game lags. If only we can get this kind of connection at home all day – everyday – then it would be more fun in the Philippines!
The Merchandise
ESF is not just about the tournaments and the conquest of who will become victorious. It is also about the people supporting the event. From ballers and shirts to plushies and toys, there’s an abundance of paraphernalia being sold and given away for everyone. If you missed out on them on day one, be sure to check out the various stalls set up around the area in the coming days.
Early Bird Cosplayers
While the official contest isn’t until day two, some have already come to the event wearing their costumes. Consider these as a sneak peek for all the craziness that’s yet to come in the Cosplay competition.
After a few debates on whether this guy is Sven from Dota 2 or not, others were able to recognize him and confirmed his true identity. He is Garland from Final Fantasy!
This Kid
At the end of the day, beyond the competition for fame and glory, what gamers really want to do is just sit back and have a good time playing eSports. Looks like this kid didn’t forget that and we hope everyone remembered too!

Cosplay Competition
If you were a bit disappointed at today’s few cosplayer turnout, worry not! The official cosplay competition for ESF 2015 will be tomorrow. So expect an abundance of people coming in to compete and represent their favorite fandoms on stage.
PC Rig Competition and LAN party
An event for the tech buff who drools over top-of-the-line hardware, this year’s PC Rig Competition and LAN Party promises to put on display some of the coolest looking and powerful rigs you’ll ever get to see. Make sure to keep an eye out for them on the floor show!
