Thus far, ESL released the schedule of the group stage for what could considered as one of this year’s Dota 2 premier tournaments, with the main stage to be continued immediately afterwards on November 16:

The group stage of the Frankfurt Major will be done in a GSL format, which means that the 16 teams will be drawn into four groups and that each group will feature a best-of-three double elimination bracket. The top two teams from each group go to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the bottom two teams from each group will fight for their lives in the lower bracket.

Meanwhile, the playoffs of the first Dota 2 major will feature a best-of-one match for the first round of the lower bracket and best-of-three matches for all the other matches except the Grand Finals, which will be done in a best-of-five format.

Among the sixteen teams fighting for a portion of the $3 million (~P119 million) prize pool is Philippines’ very own Mineski, who have grabbed their tickets to Frankfurt after beating Southeast Asian rival Fnatic, 2-1, in the upper bracket final of the SEA Qualifier playoffs.

This marks the first time that Mineski has qualified for a Valve-sponsored tournament since the first edition of the International back in 2011.
