Arguably one of the best CrossFire teams in the country, Pacific.Macta showed that they can also be a top-flight international team after getting second place at the CrossFire Stars 2015 Invitational held last November 21-22, 2015 at Hanoi, Vietnam.

Pacific.Macta and sister team Pacific.Wara faced teams from countries such as Vietnam, South Korea, Indonesia and Russia in the tournament.

While Pacific.Wara are unable to make it out of the group stages, their younger counterparts went smoothly up to the Grand Final, dropping only one map in the seeding match against Team CyberCore from Vietnam.

In the championship game, they had to face SuperCTV, a team that has caused multiple problems for both Pacific.Macta and Pacific.Wara in the past. Vietnamese teams are generally known to be strong in-game, with Team CyberCore (formerly Team BEGIN) taking second place last year at the 2014 CrossFire Stars Grand Finals.

FEATURED STORIES

The Vietnamese side wasted no time by dispatching Macta on the first map on Ankara with a very convincing scoreline of 10-3. On the second map, the Filipinos clawed their way back with a hard-fought 10-8 victory on Sub Base, showing that they can also do set plays aside from their trademark aggressive flanks and aim duels.

Game is hard, so they need to relax!

It all went down to the final map on Black Widow and although both sides played magnificently, it was SuperCTV who were able to string rounds together and get the 10-8 win.

With these results, SuperCTV gets the gold, along with $10,000 in cash, while Pacific.Macta gets $6,000 to settle for second place after a long campaign.

Pacific.Macta will compete in the CrossFire Stars 2015 Grand Finals at Guangzhou, China later in December. Meanwhile, Pacific.Wara will bear the Philippine flag at the World Cyber Arena by the end of this year.
