In a report on The Information, the social media tech giant Facebook is reportedly in talks to enter eSports more definitively in 2017.

Facebook is said to have had “extensive conversations” with mobile eSport Vainglory, made and operated by Super Evil Megacorp., discussing the future of streaming professional competitions on the Facebook platform.

Livestreaming games on Facebook is not new to fans of Activision Blizzard. In May, the Battle.net platform launched a new Livestreaming option that lets users stream their games directly onto their Facebook pages. The report on The Information further stressed that Activision and Facebook may be entering a deeper partnership in the coming months, noting that Facebook could be streaming the biggest Blizzard tournaments on their social media airspace.

For their part, Super Evil Megacorp. denied the report on The Information, stating that they are not in talks with Facebook to stream their eSports tournaments. In an updated report on PVP Live, a PR representative reached out to reporter Dustin Steiner, saying that Vainglory has exclusive streaming deals with the Amazon-owned Twitch.TV.
