Splyce — a world-renowned North American multi-title esports organization founded in 2015 — is going to be shutdown by parent company Overactive Media Heading into 2020, according to a news report published by Dexerto’s Richard Lewis.

Splyce’s employees were notified of Overactive Media’s decision yesterday and were given the option of either accepting severance packages or staying until the end December.

“OAM came and told us that we had the choice to stick around until December or we could leave now with severance pay,” said one Splyce employee to Dexerto. “The majority of the staff took the payouts so a lot of people left Splyce yesterday.”

This move is part of an overall restructure, which will see Overactive Media remain with teams in Overwatch, League of Legends, and Call of Duty — all under different names.

Splyce’s squad in the League of Legends European Championship will be re-branded to MAD Lions following Overactive’s purchase of the Spanish brand earlier this year.
