MEGA Esports Banned from Competitive League of Legends

Thailand’s MEGA Esports, the back-to-back champion of the League of Legends SEA Tour and the region’s representative to the Mid Season Invitation and World Championship, has been banned as an organization from competitive play until the end of 2021.
As stated in a report on the official Garena website, the ban follows MEGA owner Arnold Tandra failing to pay players their respective salaries. This means that the organization will not be able to field a roster in the 2020 Pacific Championship Series, though the players themselves will be able to compete should they find new teams.
The Thai core of MEGA Esports, Nuttapong “G4” Menkasikan, Juckkirsts “Lloyd” Kongubon and Atit “Rockky” Phaomuang were previously part of Ascension Gaming and under it, represented Southeast Asia at Worlds 2018. They left Ascension in the November following that event, also citing its inability to pay salaries.
