NEU Paradigm Verendus has beaten UPD Oblation Esports via a 2-1 comeback at the Alliance Games League of Legends Finals.

Game 1: Oblation Outlasts Paradigm Verendus

In Game 1, Paradigm Verendus went for a crowd control-heavy team composition that seemed prime for early game dominance. However, they were outlasted by Oblation’s late game resurgence which costed them the first game of the series.

The first few minutes of the game was relatively tame. Even during the first cloud drake, both teams avoided confrontation which eventually resulted to Paradigm Verendus surrendering the drake to the hands of Oblation.

Action then stirred up after Paradigm Verendus smelled (and took) first blood when they spotted Oblation’s Udyr, who then had no flash in his disposal to escape. From there, Paradigm Verendus capitalized on their early game lead as they subsequently took six kills and two towers by the fifteen-minute mark.

FEATURED STORIES

Unfortunately, their lead went away after Oblation’s resurgence later in the game. Paradigm Verendus got Aced multiple times and surrendered two Barons (relatively for free). In the end, the game ended just before the 35-minute mark as Paradigm Verendus got Aced which led to Oblation’s base rush to immediately end the game.

Game 2: Seraphine Sings Their Way To Victory

Game 2 of the best-of-3 series went to Paradigm Verendus as Mark Owen “ITERATION” Ramos’s Seraphine sang their way to victory.

At the start, Paradigm Verendus managed to get the first drake but nothing really happened up until the 7-minute mark. A clash at the bottom side of the map left Paradigm Verendus with two deaths and one kill for their side.

Fortunately, they were able to stave off that blunder as they started to win the next few clashes. It was ITERATION’s precise Seraphine ultimates that set up Paradigm Verendus for success as it resulted to easy takedowns (and eventual victory).

Game 3: A Mordekaiser Quadra For Victory

Paradigm Verendus started the last game of the grand finals series with multiple surprises. First, they targeted Oblation’s Jungler with three bans as they took away Udyr, Karthus, and Fiddlesticks. Next, they brought out ITERATION’s Yasuo in which Oblation responded with a Yone counter.

As soon as the game started, Paradigm Verendus quickly made the work. As it approached the 4-minute mark, they took first blood as they slay Oblation’s Taliyah. From there, Paradigm Verendus snowballed through secured objectives and made Oblation play reactively. At the end of the game, a massive Quadra Kill from Jed Cedric “Scourge” Batacan spelled the end for Oblation’s almost perfect run in the playoffs and gave Paradigm Verendus the game to win the series.

With the grand finals concluded, Paradigm Verendus takes first place, Oblation Esports with second place, and the MGS mages in third. Paradigm Verendus is also set to take home PHP 25,000, championship jerseys, and merchandise from AcadArena.
