Kazuma Kiryu and Kasuga Ichiban to team up for Like A Dragon 8, set for release 2024
Worlds will finally collide when Yakuza 8, now officially titled Like A Dragon 8, releases for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam in 2024.
Dubbed by the creators as the series’ “largest game to date,” Like A Dragon 8 will feature dual protagonists in the form of Yakuza: Like A Dragon hero Kasuga Ichiban and longtime Yakuza star Kazuma Kiryu, with the story unfolding through both of their perspectives.
Like A Dragon 8 will play out as a JRPG similar to Yakuza: Like A Dragon with Kiryu apparently bringing in a new fighting style to the game. The real reason for Kiryu’s return is unclear but it seems to be relevant to the game’s overarching theme of “a man carrying the past and a man carrying the future.”
Oh, and did we mention Kiryu’s sporting a new gray hairstyle?
