Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) Philippines was crowned as the champions of the Predator League 2022 – Philippines VALORANT after they swept South Built Esports (SBE) 2-0 in the LAN grand finals.

Getting Past The Semifinals On LAN

Prior to the grand finals, RRQ first had to get past Oasis Gaming in the semifinals of the tournament where they eventually swept them 2-0.

The first game against Oasis at Haven ended with a 13-5 scoreline. RRQ originally trailed in the game as Oasis took five rounds in the first eight rounds of the game. Fortunately, RRQ reversed the situation with a four-round win streak to end the half in the lead 7-5. From there, it was a smooth sail in the second half as they never dropped a round on the defending side to win the game.

RRQ then continued their path of destruction at Breeze as they won the second game 13-5 yet again. RRQ simply blew aside Oasis in the first half as they only dropped a single round. After halftime, Oasis then came alive and took four rounds from RRQ. Fortunately, RRQ only needed two more rounds to win the game which they took at Rounds 17 and 18.

Sweeping SBE To Win It All

With Oasis out of the way, RRQ met SBE, who in turn defeated Team Secret 2-1 earlier on that day, in the grand finals

RRQ PH’s first outing in the series at Breeze went well as they took the game 13-7. RRQ took the opening three rounds of the game but were immediately met with SBE’s four-round win streak that all came from defusals. RRQ then answered back with a four-round win streak of their own but lost the last round of the first half to make the game 7-5. After halftime, RRQ secured the second half’s first two rounds before losing to SBE’s buy-round. Fortunately, RRQ took the match point by Round Round 18 and ended the game two rounds after.

After that, RRQ won the second game at Fracture in a close 14-12 overtime win. RRQ absolutely squashed SBE in the first half as it ended 9-3. However, SBE returned the favor in the second half with a 9-3 run of their own and forced the game to go into overtime. With the game reset, RRQ won both rounds in overtime to win the game.

With their win, RRQ PH took home a whopping PHP 200,000 cash prize for winning the tournament while SBE went home with PHP 100,000 as the runner-up.
