After Blacklist International bowed out of the Honor of Kings Championship 2024, coach Gerald “Tgee” Gelacio says that he’s incredibly proud of the team.

Blacklist International were eliminated from the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 after their 0-3 loss to Malaysian team NOVA Esports in the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals. This places them at 5th-6th place.

“This is our first [international HoK] tournament, and I’m so proud of my boys,” says coach Tgee. “We’ve played only six months of HoK. We’re a very new team.”

Coach Tgee sees a lot of room for improvement for the team. Chammy “Chammy1” Nazarrea agrees, saying “We could’ve done better in a lot of ways.. but I think in our six months of playing, this is [our best].” Justine “Juschie” Tan says “Parang, mas maraming knowledge yung team kaysa samin. Years na naglalaro yung ibang teams, kami, months pa lang.”

Tgee also expressed wanting to see more tournaments in the Philippines to help the Filipino teams be more competitive in the international stage. Mark “Maze” Galang says “Major [Honor of Kings] tournaments sa Pilipinas, baka naman!”

Blacklist International at the Honor of Kings Championship 2024

The Blacklist International team with Chammy “Chammy1” Paul Nazarrea, Justine Ritchie “Juschie” Tan, Aaron Mark “Aaron” Bingay, Golden Hart “Goldenk1te” Dajao, Charles Roman “Chazz” Esguerra, Mark Jentry “Maze” Galang, and coach Tgee was formed on June 2024.

They qualified for HOKC 2024 by coming second in the Philippines qualifier, losing the top spot to BOOM Esports. BOOM also advanced to the playoffs, but lost back-to-back to Fearless Esports HK then to Nova Esports, eliminating them from the tournament at 7th-8th.

In Blacklist’s group were Dominator Esports and Mahadewa from Indonesia, along with Turkish FUT Esports. Blacklist only loss in the group stage were to Dominator. The latter team, on the other hand, came out unscathed. Both teams advanced to the playoffs.

Blacklist’s first adversary in the playoffs was Malaysian squad Team Secret. The best-of-five went to BLCK, 3-2. Next, they faced Dominator once again, who kept performing their namesake and dominated Blacklist, 3-0. This loss sent them to the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals against Nova Esports.

Here, Nova would eliminate their second PH team of the tournament. They are one of the four remaining teams, the others being Dominator Esports, Fearless Esports HK, and Malaysian team Black Shrew Esport.
