Trickster’s Glass, Ocklepods and Gold Krakens: New LoL Game Mode Hits the PBE
Riot Games has announced an exciting new game mode being tested out on the PBE right now.
“Black Market Brawlers” is a new game mode that will be taking place in Summoner’s Rift as part of the Bilgewater event. Here are some things you can expect from this new game mode.
My reaction when I saw the details below for the first time.
EARN THE KRAKEN
This game mode features a new currency called Krakens.
But what can you do with these Krakens? Summon Davy Jones? Not quite. Here’s what you can do with yar’ precious booty.
BUY YOUR OWN MINIONS
Aside from Banner of Command, there aren’t a lot of things we can do with the minions in Summoner’s Rift right now. Enter the brawler minions: minions that you can hire to fight for you that spawn with each creep wave!
Each minion has unique stats and abilities that will affect the gameplay in various ways. Be warned though: you can only hire one kind of these brawlers per game!
IRONBACKS: The lovechild of Rammus and blue buff
RAZORFINS: Who let the (aquatic) dogs out?
PLUNDERCRABS: Strap a cannon on a crab and see what happens.
OCKLEPODS: “Hello papagena. Tu est bella come la papaya.”
Not only that, but as you can see, you can upgrade your brawlers during the game to add abilities and buffs to them. You can also upgrade their defensive and offensive stats!
NEW ITEMS
Did you ever want to pull an entire enemy team towards you for no reason? Well now you can channel your inner Sasori with this item:
How about wanting to make some tricky plays by making the enemy think there are two Teemos on your team?
Or how about converting the damage of your enemies into money? Look no further than this handy little gadget over here:
These are a few things that’s on the game mode right now. Keep in mind that this is still on PBE though, which means everything is still not final and may not be in that state when pushed to live. Still, it’s a good indicator of what you can expect out of this new game mode.
Now, if only I could get those Ocklepod minions to multiply and use them to conquer the world… Maybe if I feed them bananas?
