GameClub Releases Revamped Dress Rules For The 2015 Season
In a recent statement, GameClub Philippines, the publishers of CrossFire, have announced that players who participate in GameClub-sponsored tournaments are to observe a certain dress code.
Basically, it says that “there should be no sando and no slippers” when players join any CrossFire tournament.
Here is the full statement released by GameClub Philippines:
“In order to support our ongoing efforts to standardize our tournaments and to increase the standing of Esports amongst the general public, we decided that from this point on, all players who take part in GameClub-sanctioned tournaments must wear decent attire, which means no sando and slippers are allowed.”

“GameClub Philippines is doing this in order to raise the profile of our players (and the FPS scene in general) here in the Philippines and to show that we are committed to making Esports into a part of mainstream society. We also want to make our players feel that they are not just playing a game, but that they are playing something that is special to them.”
The statement concludes by saying that they are working with stakeholders in order to spread this policy all over the country.
“We are also working with other game publishers and Esports stakeholders in order to make this policy a common practice here in the country.”
In the light of this statement, the Razer NeXT Crossfire Tournament will follow the abovementioned rules immediately.
CrossFire is an online tactical FPS for PC by South Korean developer SmileGate. The game is currently the largest and bestselling FPS title in China, where it is published and distributed by Tencent.
