eSports Championship Series Reveals Invited Teams, Garners Intense Reactions from Prominent Names
After announcing the creation of the eSports Championship Series (ECS) a couple of days ago, FACEIT and Twitch have announced the lineup of North American and European teams that will compete in the league.
Eighteen invited teams and two qualifying teams for a from North America and Europe are slated to fight for a share of the massive $3.5 million prize pool that is at stake for the first two editions of the largest multi-million dollar CS:GO league thus far.

ECS is the first tournament in CS:GO that offers a developmental league as well as allowing teams to have co-ownership rights and a share of the league’s revenues.
The first matches were held yesterday, Philippine time, with Astralis, EnVyUs, Dignitas, NRG and Optic Gaming all getting their first wins in the league.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, captain and main sniper for South American powerhouse Luminosity, have mentioned on Twitter why Tempo Storm, which is arguably one of the better teams in the Americas, have never been considered for an invite.

In addition, he posted several follow-up tweets, one of which clarifies that he is not just talking about his fellow South American compatriots, but for the rest of the other teams which “performed good” as well:
