Riot Games Postpones Mid-Season Invitational, Cancels Rift Rivals

As COVID-19 looms over the present day, Riot Games has announced the postponement the prestigious League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational and further cancelled their regional Rift Rivals tournaments.
According to Global Head of League of Legends Esports, John Needham, 2020 MSI will be moved from May to July in the hopes that travel bans will then be lifted to allow players to complete in the tournament. MSI is scheduled to take place from July 3 to July 19, 2020. Furthermore, the annual Rift Rivals was cancelled citing concerns regarding scheduling in the regional and global level.
The postponement of the Mid-Season Invitational comes after the postponement of League of Legends regional leagues such as the LCK, LPL, and PCS amidst the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
