As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, the League of Legends European Championship has announced the cancellation of the tournament league until further notice due to a staff member being suspected for the coronavirus.

In an announcement made yesterday, the LEC decided to preemptively suspend the league to ensure the safety of its staff, players, and management. The staff member under quarantine is currently being evaluated by health professionals and thus far, no staff or player has tested positive for COVID-19.

The suspension of the European league comes after the suspension of the LCS’ live audience and the postponement of the Asian leagues in the LCK, LPL, and the PCS.
