Viper Buffs Headline VALORANT Patch 1.04
Patch 1.04 of Riot Games’ free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter VALORANT went live earlier today and featured a slight rework to the Classic, minor nerfs to Raze and Brimstone, but most importantly huge buffs to Viper.
Inarguably on the weaker side of the spectrum of agents since the beta, the latest balance update may finally make the American chemist worth playing. The biggest talking point would be the substantial, but very beneficial, change to her ultimate, Viper’s Pit.
She can now stay outside the pit for up to 12 seconds before it collapses, instead of the previous 5. While inside her ultimate, enemies also have their minimaps obscured.
Patch Notes 1.04 is here with some changes. Four Agents get some polish, a bug fix for the Classic gave us an opportunity to go in and tune the weapon’s behaviour, and more. Read the rest here: https://t.co/PQxAaF80eC pic.twitter.com/94h24BFjyk

Decay across all of her abilities has also gotten more dangerous. It has been increased from 10 to 15 per second and persists for 2.5 seconds after leaving the smoke.
Not only that, but using Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud no longer drains Fuel twice as quickly. Now players don’t have to worry about rapidly exhausting their Fuel when using both abilities at the same time.
Whether these changes will finally make Viper more viable in the current meta, only time will tell. You can check the rest of the patch notes here.
