Their first match-up was against Malaysia. The first to play was Rad Novales who played against Malaysia’s RippedJean, followed by Aljhon Cañas against Malaysia’s P3rlis. Unfortunately, both Filipinos went scoreless as they lost 3-0 and 5-0, respectively. Last in line was Jorrel Aristorenas who battled LuqmanHzq of Malaysia. He performed better than his teammates as he had more offensive touches (and shots) and had numerous fantastic goal saves. However, he still lost the game as his opponent scored a single goal during the first half of extra time.
Their prayers for a win went unanswered as Vietnam also swept them commandingly. Novales and Cañas were utterly destroyed by their opponents (Vietnam’s Maestroz and Cold respectively). In a blink of an eye, both players allowed their respective opponents to go five goals ahead of them with Novales losing 1-6 while Cañas succumbing to a 0-5 loss of his own. As the last man standing yet again, Aristorenas tried to get a win against Vietnam’s Mesut but eventually fell short. With his opponent scoring the first goal, he equalized his game with a goal using Ronaldo. However, luck wasn’t indeed on the Filipino’s side as Aristorenas allowed Mesut to sneak another goal just before the game ended in extra time.
With this loss, SIBOL has yet to experience any sort of victory at the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam as earlier this day their Men’s Wild Rift team ended their own journey winless. On the other hand, their Free Fire team is still in competition even after a less than stellar result on the first day. Meanwhile, the rest of their representatives in League of Legends (PC), Arena of Valor, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, CrossFire, PUBG Mobile, and Women’s Wild Rift have yet to see some action.
